lantw44/gnome-restore-gtk-icons

Project ID: 2123

Description

Restore GTK+ icon and image support in menus and buttons in GNOME desktop. You don't need this package if you are using other desktop environments because you can simply edit the ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini file to enable it in other desktop environments.

Installation Instructions

Use the command sudo dnf upgrade gnome-settings-daemon gsettings-desktop-schemas to replace the official packages with the patched packages.

After installing these patched packages, use the following command to enable GTK+ icon and image support. You have to logout and re-login for the change to take effect.

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface buttons-have-icons true
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface menus-have-icons true

WARNING: You must upgrade both gnome-settings-daemon and gsettings-desktop-schemas. If you only upgrade one of them, your GNOME Shell may fail to start.

All rpm specs are available here. It is also available on GitHub, which sync with the primary repo once a day.
