Description

Set of fedora-minimal-conflicts-* packages helps me keeping my work notebook installation clean. The packages declare conflicts so I can enjoy my desktop without some unnecessary stuff getting in during dnf upgrade without me noticing.

Built from https://github.com/adelton/fedora-minimal (forked from https://github.com/Element104/fedora-minimal and continuing maintanence).

Installation Instructions

Run dnf copr enable adelton/fedora-minimal. Alternativelly get the .repo file appropriate for your version of Fedora, store it to /etc/yum.repos.d.

Run

sudo dnf search fedora-minimal-conflicts-

to see what is available.

Try to enable all of them

dnf install --skip-broken 'fedora-minimal-conflicts-*'

prompt decide if you want to install at least the packages without conflicts, giving you protection in those areas.

You will likely have some packages reported with conflicts because you installation has some useful parts that would be prevented by complete set. But maybe it will force you to think if you really use or need all those packages on your setup. Clean up what you don't need and try to add more fedora-minimal-conflicts-* packages.
