Wallpaper Engine for KDE

A wallpaper plugin integrating Wallpaper Engine into KDE's wallpaper settings.

Note

• Known issues:
  • Some scene wallpapers may crash your KDE.
    Remove WallpaperSource line in ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and restart KDE to fix.
  • Mouse long press (to enter panel edit mode) is broken on desktop.
  • Screen Locking is not supported, please not use this plugin in screen locking.

If you are using amd, please choose RADV driver.

Installation Instructions

This copr provides the libraries needed for the KDE Wallpaper Engine plugin. Start by first installing the plugin from the KDE store, then follow the directions below depending on your distribution.

Installation (Mutable)

Firstly add the Copr repository to your system:

sudo dnf copr enable kylegospo/wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin 

After adding the repository, install wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin:

sudo dnf install wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin

Installation (Immutable)

Firstly add the Copr repository to your system:

sudo wget https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/kylegospo/wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin/repo/fedora-$(rpm -E %fedora)/kylegospo-wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin-fedora-$(rpm -E %fedora).repo -O /etc/yum.repos.d/_copr_kylegospo-wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin.repo

After adding the repository, install wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin:

rpm-ostree install wallpaper-engine-kde-plugin

Reboot to apply your changes.

Usage

1. Wallpaper Engine installed on Steam
2. Subscribe to some wallpapers on the Workshop
3. Select the steamlibrary folder on the Wallpapers tab of this plugin
   • The steamlibrary which contains the steamapps folder
     • This is usually ~/.local/share/Steam by default
   • Wallpaper Engine needs to be installed in this steamlibrary
