Description

Development-only ROS 2 Jazzy Jalisco RPMs for Fedora 44+ and CentOS Stream 10 (maintenance). Minimal headless set plus a dev sandbox (rqt, ros2cli, launch, demo nodes, Cyclone DDS) via ros-jazzy-ros-desktop; rviz2 is not packaged on Jazzy. NOT the official ROS 2 packages for Fedora. Lyrical (flagship, the current LTS) lives at hellaenergy/ros2.

Installation Instructions

ROS 2 Jazzy Jalisco (development-only, maintenance)

Not the official ROS 2 packages for Fedora. This is a development sandbox. For new work, prefer the Lyrical flagship COPR (hellaenergy/ros2); for production, use Open Robotics's official packages once they land.

Install

sudo dnf copr enable hellaenergy/ros2-jazzy
sudo dnf install ros-jazzy-ros-base
source /opt/ros/jazzy/setup.bash

Developer desktop (rqt, ros2cli, launch, Cyclone DDS, demos)

sudo dnf install ros-jazzy-ros-desktop

The rqt suite builds on the Fedora chroots only (Stream 10 lacks the Qt5 build deps). rviz2 is not packaged on Jazzy (upstream Ogre/Assimp blockers); the Lyrical COPR ships rviz2. ros-jazzy-ros-desktop carries a heterogeneous license aggregate (Apache-2.0 AND BSD-3-Clause AND LGPL-3.0-only AND EPL-2.0); ros-jazzy-ros-core and ros-jazzy-ros-base stay permissive-only.

Supported chroots

Fedora 44, fedora-rawhide, CentOS Stream 10, each on x86_64 and aarch64.
