Description

Development-only ROS 2 Lyrical (the 2026 LTS) RPMs for Fedora 44+ and CentOS Stream 10. Ships the headless set plus a full developer sandbox (rqt, ros2cli, launch, demo nodes, Cyclone DDS) and rviz2 via ros-lyrical-ros-desktop. NOT the official ROS 2 packages for Fedora; Open Robotics is delivering those for Lyrical. For production, use their official packages. Jazzy (maintenance) lives at hellaenergy/ros2-jazzy.

Installation Instructions

ROS 2 Lyrical Luth (development-only)

Not the official ROS 2 packages for Fedora. Open Robotics is delivering official Fedora packages starting with Lyrical; use those for production. This COPR is a development sandbox for compiling and experimenting against ROS 2 on Fedora 44+ and CentOS Stream 10 today.

Install

sudo dnf copr enable hellaenergy/ros2
sudo dnf install ros-lyrical-ros-base
source /opt/ros/lyrical/setup.bash

Full developer desktop (rqt, ros2cli, launch, rviz2, Cyclone DDS, demos)

sudo dnf install ros-lyrical-ros-desktop

The sandbox and rviz2 build on Fedora 44 and CentOS Stream 10 (both arches). fedora-rawhide carries the headless set only. ros-lyrical-ros-desktop carries a heterogeneous license aggregate (Apache-2.0 AND BSD-3-Clause AND LGPL-3.0-only AND EPL-2.0); ros-lyrical-ros-core and ros-lyrical-ros-base stay permissive-only.

Supported chroots

Fedora 44, fedora-rawhide, CentOS Stream 10, each on x86_64 and aarch64.
