zchunk is a compressed file format that splits the file into independent chunks. This allows you to only download changed chunks when downloading a new version of the file, which makes zchunk a perfect fit for DNF metadata.
This repository provides zchunk-enabled librepo, which will download zchunked metadata if it's available.
To disable zchunk, set
/etc/yum.conf. Please note that only DNF seems to currently respect this setting.
