Description
Linux kernel vanilla repositories for Fedora
This copr project provides vanilla builds of releases from the Linux kernel series the latest Fedora release currently uses.
This is the first of six copr repositories that allow you to quickly, comfortably, and cleanly install a vanilla Linux from different kernel series. The offered packages are built just like Fedora's and perfect for both quick tests and regular day-to-day use.
Installation Instructions
Enable this copr repository like any other, e.g. by running sudo dnf copr enable @kernel-vanilla/fedora
. Afterwards update your system to let the package manager install the latest kernel from this copr. Note, on commodity x86 systems you’ll need to disable Secure Boot, otherwise your firmware will not permit these kernels to boot.
A dedicated page about the kernel vanilla repositories for Fedora Linux explained this and other aspects in more detail. It also describes the various kernel series these repositories provide and why some of them include others as a runtime dependency – which is why some of the repositories look empty and abandoned, when in fact everything is fine and working as intended.
