Description
Snapshots of the IfcOpenShell package, python interface for FreeCAD, the Bonsai BIM Blender add-on (previously BlenderBIM), and dependencies not in fedora.
Jan 2025: bpostle, the former maintainer, is not planning on maintaining any new packages in fedora. This repository started as his contribution to development, to ensure that this project is packageable as a 'normal' Linux package - Bonsai in particular is moving too fast to consider adding this to fedora proper any time soon.
May 2025: I, your humble factotem, forked bpostle's project because I needed to use FreeCAD for my own use, and IpcOpenShell is needed for BIM projects.
Installation Instructions
sudo dnf copr enable loyeyoung/IfcOpenShell
sudo dnf install IfcOpenShell-python3
sudo dnf install IfcOpenShell-bonsai
sudo dnf install Topologic-python3
FreeCAD IFC support should be enabled automatically with the IfcOpenShell-python3 package, the Bonsai addon needs to be enabled in the Blender preferences.
Nota bene: For FreeCAD on Fedora 42 (aarch64 and x86_64, there is a FreeCAD copr snapshot repository, enable it like so:
dnf copr enable loyeyoung/freecad_F42
