Description

Nautilus Share integrates sharing functionality directly into Nautilus, allowing regular users to export folders over Samba by driving the 'net' helper’s user-share functionality with a simple GUI. It adds a "Sharing Options" entry to the file manager context menu and configures Samba shares on demand.

Installation Instructions

Administrators still need to complete a few steps before the UI can be used:

1. Install and enable Samba usershares: sudo dnf install samba samba-client sudo systemctl enable --now smb

2. Add each desktop user who should be able to publish shares to the 'sambashare' group (log out/in afterwards): sudo usermod -a -G sambashare <username>
