pp3345/chromium-ozone

Project ID: 34119

Description

EOL

This repository is now EOL and will not receive any further updates. Starting with Chrome 87 (to be released on November 17), Google will ship Ozone in their official builds (still disabled by default, use --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland), and I suppose that Fedora's Chromium builds will also include Ozone. Install Google Chrome Beta if you want to try Ozone before Nov 17.

This repository contains builds of the Chromium browser with the new ozone/x11 and ozone/wayland platform abstraction backends enabled. See GitHub for package sources.

Defaults to ozone/x11. Run as chromium-browser --ozone-platform=wayland to use ozone/wayland in a Wayland session.

There are still open issues and limitations in both new backends compared to the existing X11 implementation. Use with caution. These packages are mainly intended for playing around and evaluating the current state of the Wayland implementation, and are not practical for everyday use according to my own tests.

Note: In contrast to the official Fedora packages, this repository is missing support for remoting and headless Chromium.
