Description

libfprint fork with elanmoc2 driver for ELAN Match-on-Chip fingerprint readers (04f3:0c00/0c4c/0c5e/0c7c/0c90). Replaces system libfprint.

Installation Instructions

Install

Enable the repo and install:

sudo dnf copr enable skaldebane/libfprint-elanmoc2
sudo dnf swap libfprint libfprint-elanmoc2

After installing, the ELAN fingerprint reader should work with fprintd and GNOME out of the box. Enroll a finger:

fprintd-enroll

Verify the device is detected:

fprintd-list $USER

Revert to system libfprint

sudo dnf swap libfprint-elanmoc2 libfprint
sudo dnf copr disable skaldebane/libfprint-elanmoc2

Troubleshooting

If the reader isn't detected after install, try rebooting.
