Description

A window manager for GNOME | Attempts to improve performances with non-upstreamed merge-requests and frequent stable branch resync. Repackaged using the mutter-performance patch from the AUR repository, without any modifications.The default patch list includes "Dynamic triple buffering(!1441)", "text-input-v1(!3751)".Latest Dynamic triple buffering patch has several included MRs from the main development branch to achieve maximum performance.text-input-v1 patch adds text-input-v1 protocol support for input methods, fixing input method issues in Electron.

Installation Instructions

To install on Fedora Silverblue:

cd /etc/yum.repos.d/ && sudo wget  https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/yasershahi/mutter-performance/repo/fedora-41/yasershahi-mutter-performance-fedora-41.repo && sudo rpm-ostree override replace --experimental --from repo=copr:copr.fedorainfracloud.org:yasershahi:mutter-performance mutter

To return to Fedora upstream on Silverblue:

sudo rm /etc/yum.repos.d/yasershahi-mutter-performance-fedora-*.repo && sudo rpm-ostree override reset mutter
