Description

The cinnamon desktop environment built for EL8 distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle).

Installation Instructions

To install:

sudo dnf install cinnamon

suggested packages:

sudo dnf install gnome-terminal gnome-system-monitor

To install the mint icon themes, enable my icon-themes repository:

sudo dnf copr enable stenstorp/icon-themes
sudo dnf install mint-themes mint-y-theme mint-*-icons

NOTE!

There have been reports of some users having issues logging in using GDM. These issues do not seem to exist when using LightDM. LightDM can be installed using the following commands:

sudo dnf copr enable stenstorp/lightdm
sudo dnf install lightdm-settings slick-greeter-cinnamon
sudo systemctl disable gdm
sudo systemctl enable lightdm 

LightDM will be enabled upon rebooting.
