Vk2bea's Projects

vk2bea/HP8970

Program to facilitate and augment the operation of the HP8970 Noise Figure Meter Control the 8970 via GPIB to take measurements of noise figure and gain over a frequency sweep or over time. Plot the noise figure/temperature and gain vs frequency Use mouse to examine the trace (interrogate plot to see measurements and interpolated values) Save traces as an image file (PNG) or PDF. Save measured data as CSV for further processing or as a JSON file to be retrieved at a later time. Print traces to connected printer See: YouTube video description

vk2bea/HPGLplotter

An GPIB / HPGL plotter emulator. This program acts as a plotter device on the GPIB. The plots display on the screen and can be printed or saved as files in PDF, SVG or PNG formats. It has been tested on the HP8753C network analyzer and HP8595E spectrum analyzer. Note that the GPIB interface on the Linux computer must be able to act as a simple listener / talker. Some devices (notably the Agilent 82357A/B) can only act as system controllers and will not work with this application.

vk2bea/HP8753

Program to facilitate and augment the operation of the HP8753 Vector Network Analyzer. The calibration setup may be saved and recalled for rapid restoration of the network analyzer state. Traces may be retrieved from the HP8753 and saved. Saved traces may be recalled and displayed. Displayed traces may be interrogated with the mouse pointer. Retrieved traces may be printed or saved in PDF, High resolution Smith chart or PNG format. Calibration kit definitions (.xkt files) can be imported and sent to the HP8753 (optionally saving the user kit) See: YouTube video description

vk2bea/GPIB

Updated linux-gpib kernel driver and user utilities. This builds upon the work of https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/vddvss/linux-gpib/ in packaging the linux-gpib driver for Fedora. It updates the RPMs for active Fedora releases and to the latest linux-gpib driver (SVN trunk) and user utilities.
