Recent Projects

loveshack/blis

Packages for the BLAS-like Library Instantiation Software Framework. These use a spec file modified to work on other distributions, which isn't allowed in Fedora. Since blis packaging is now in Fedora and EPEL 7, only the EPEL 6 and OpenSuSE packages are now useful here. Changes for SuSE variants or other rpm-based distributions are welcome to allow rebuilding the source packages on them.

tomasm/Plasma-5

KDE Plasma 5.13 for RHEL/CentOS 7, with additional KDE apps This project has been abandoned, as all our boxes are being migrated to SUSE and CentOS 8. Keeping this COPR up in case it is useful to anyone. Mass rebuild (without version bumps) of most packages can be found at https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/tomasm/Plasma-5-testing/ CURRENT STATUS: WORKS, BUT USE AT OWN RISK There may be conflicts with packages from official or other repos. Works with the packages I run and use. You may need to enable copr://rdieter/kde4 for some kde4 apps. LIBS AND SONAMES Newer versions of some common libraries are used by this repo. Compatibility libraries are provided for libwebp and poppler, for compatibility with EPEL and CentOS packages. FORKS AND OTHER VERSIONS Forks with broader scope welcome, as are news of other efforts to bring Plasma 5 and KF5 packages to CentOS. Contact me if you'd like a link to your project added to this description page.

subsentient/palladiumkernel

A highly optimized kernel compiled with a number of features Fedora usually lacks, such as disk controllers and most filesystems built-in, root over NFS, USB gadgets, forced module unloading and loading, module versioning, in-kernel memtest, Android APIs such as binder and ashmem to add ease of use for the "Anbox" android chroot, page poisoning enabled by default for security, much more. Works good without an initramfs. This kernel as of 6.0.0-3001, is compiled with Clang and lld with full LTO enabled and -O3 optimization. It can be considered a good balance between optimization and security, leaning towards performance. If you need to build kernel modules and you're having issues because it's Clang-built, do e.g. "make LLVM=1 LLVM_IAS=1" for your external module, or perhaps "make CC=clang HOSTCC=clang LD=lld" if and only if the former fails.
